About Heath

A product of Ohio, Heath had big plans of becoming a professional basketball player and sinking a half-court shot to win the championship. But God had other plans. Heath realized his calling into ministry when he helped guide students to Christ one summer as a camp leader.

Along his journey into ministry, Heath earned a Communications degree from Calvin University and a Masters in Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. He had the joy of serving on Young Life staff as well as a Student Pastor at various churches across the country. Heath has also led many trips to serve the vulnerable around the world, including to Costa Rica, Peru and Ethiopia.

In June 2018, Heath followed God’s call to Virginia Beach where he served as the Associate Pastor and then Lead Pastor at Spring Branch Community Church for 3 and a half years.

A gifted and engaging speaker, Heath loves to preach in chapels, at camps or weddings, or to the birds in his backyard. Combining humor, life experience, scriptural knowledge, and a winsome personality, Heath has a unique God-given ability to relate to people of any age and at any stage. Heath’s pride and joy is his wife Lyndsay of 18 years and his three beautiful children, Rett, Eisley, and Lylah.

His mission is simple:

To preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ at all times to all people by all means.
To see the Gospel convict, challenge, encourage, and inspire people, both old and young, lukewarm and lost.
To watch how Jesus’ life makes others want to live like Him.
To witness the Gospel empower people to realize their fullest potential.

“Heath is a Godly man who is clearly called by God to build His church. He is a servant leader who cares about who you are long before he cares about what you do. He is a joy to work with.

Eric Fretz

“Heath is a great friend and brother in Christ. His passion for Jesus and His Gospel is evident in his interactions with all he comes in contact with. Using his God given talents, Heath does an amazing job relating the Gospel to whomever he may be speaking to. Whether speaking to a peer or a room full of people, he meets them where they are in a loving and intentional way. I’m proud to call him friend and even more proud to call him brother.”
